Wildbox Powerframe aluminium frame with Victron electrical equipment and a Fogstar Drift battery.

Pre-built van electrics · Partridge Green

    Wildbox Powerframe 3000.

The Wildbox Powerframe 3000 is a pre-built campervan electrical system, assembled and bench-tested in our West Sussex workshop. It provides 12V DC and 230V AC power for everyday van life. See what that means for kettle boils, cooking and days away from a hook-up, then explore what is included.

    Start with your trip

What could it run, and for how long?

12V DC for everyday essentials such as your fridge, lights and water pump. 230V AC for suitable mains appliances, such as a travel kettle and air fryer, through the inverter. These are planning examples, not a promise of what every van will achieve.

Separate examples, not a whole day's power

Kettle and fryer counts are isolated examples: one full battery, one appliance only. They are not additive. They assume full-power worst-case use; thermostat cycling may reduce draw. Use one cooking appliance at a time. A 3kW domestic kettle is unsuitable.

    What the day estimate assumes

Battery starts full. We allow 90% of its capacity, leaving a 10% reserve, with 90% AC conversion efficiency and a further 12% general loss allowance. Inverter switched off when not needed; these examples do not model leaving it on idle for 24 hours.

No alternator or mains charging is included. Panels are additional, not included with the Powerframe. Solar uses average assumptions of 4 hours × 70% in summer and 1 hour × 60% in winter, not a weather forecast. Shade, cloud, season, battery condition and other loads change results. A result saying solar could match a typical day does not mean unlimited time away.

Safety note: continuous inverter ceiling is 2200W at 40°C per the existing configuration. Real suitability depends on installation and cooling.

    Overall dimensions

    1400 × 500 × 810mm

    One frame, considered layout

Components are bolted through a 3mm aluminium plate rather than relying on fixings in a timber board. The plate gives a solid mounting surface and is non-combustible.

    Room for access and airflow

The frame design allows 100mm clearance above and below the inverter, with space around other units. This is our design choice, not a universal manufacturer minimum.

    Protection included

Includes a 400A Class T main fuse, battery isolators, Victron Lynx Distributor with fused circuits, and consumer units for hook-up and mains sockets.

    Check the space first

Allow for the 1400 × 500 × 810mm frame, ventilation, manufacturer clearances, cable routes and access. Suitability needs checking in the actual vehicle.

Electrical safety matters beyond the workshop

We build the Powerframe to BS 7671, Section 721 and bench-test it before it leaves us. Insurers, campsites and festivals may ask for evidence of electrical safety. The standard is part of how we build the system, not an optional extra.

The completed vehicle installation still needs appropriate inspection and testing. Check the evidence required by your insurer or venue, and discuss installation testing and documentation with us before ordering. Requirements vary, so we cannot guarantee acceptance by every insurer or site.

The MultiPlus-II is rated at 3000VA. VA is apparent power, not a promise of 3000 watts for every appliance. Actual usable output depends on the equipment, installation and operating conditions.

    What the price covers

The Powerframe is a pre-built electrical assembly. It is not a plug-and-play vehicle installation: mounting, vehicle wiring, integration and commissioning need to be assessed and quoted for the specific van.

    Warranty terms

Wildbox warranty: 5 years on structure and installation, 12 months on finish and adjustment. Fogstar battery warranty: 10 years, subject to Fogstar's manufacturer terms. Other component warranties are set by their manufacturers.

Battery capacity is nominal. Run time depends on loads, usable battery capacity, charging conditions and how the system is installed; we do not quote a guaranteed number of days.

    Powerframe 3000

    Powerframe 3000 questions answered.

What is the Wildbox Powerframe 3000?

The Powerframe 3000 is a pre-built campervan electrical assembly, built and bench-tested by Wildbox in Partridge Green, West Sussex. It brings 12V DC battery storage, 230V AC inverter power and mains charging together, with hardware for alternator and solar charging.

What is included in the Powerframe?

The assembly includes a Victron MultiPlus-II 3000VA inverter/charger, Fogstar Drift Gen2 628Ah battery, Victron Orion XS alternator charger, SmartSolar controller and electrical protection, mounted on a frame. Vehicle fitting, solar panels and monitoring are quoted separately.

Can the Powerframe run a kettle or air fryer?

The planning examples use a 1,000W travel kettle and a 1,500W air fryer, one cooking appliance at a time. From a full battery, the separate appliance-only estimates are about 58 six-minute kettle boils or seven 30-minute air-fryer sessions. These are alternatives, not combined allowances; other loads and charging change the result. A 3kW domestic kettle is not suitable for this guide.

How many days can I stay away from a hook-up?

There is no guaranteed number of days. The everyday-power guide estimates duration from daily appliance use, usable battery capacity and optional solar yield. UK winter solar produces much less than summer solar, and weather, shading and installation affect charging. The guide does not include driving or mains charging.

    Are solar panels included?

No. The Powerframe includes solar-charging hardware, but solar panels, their fitting and monitoring are quoted separately. The guide's solar choices are planning examples, not panels supplied with the assembly.

Does 3000VA mean it can run 3000 watts?

No. VA is apparent power, not the same as watts. Victron lists the MultiPlus-II 12/3000's continuous output as 2400W at 25°C and 2200W at 40°C. Suitability also depends on startup demand, concurrent loads, battery limits and installation conditions.

Is the Powerframe a plug-and-play van installation?

No. It is a pre-built assembly. Vehicle mounting, wiring, integration, commissioning and final installation testing need to be assessed for the actual van. Wildbox builds the assembly to BS 7671 Section 721 and bench-tests it; this does not replace inspection and testing of the completed vehicle or guarantee acceptance by every insurer or venue.

What does the price cover, and how do I order?

The displayed system price covers the pre-built Powerframe assembly. Vehicle fitting, solar panels and monitoring are separate. See the Wildbox shop for the current product price and order information, or contact the workshop to discuss suitability and fitting.
