Avandra: The First Wildbox Adventure Van
Where Our Standard Was Set

Every brand has a first build that defines what it stands for. For Wildbox, that van is Avandra — our original, fully off-grid prototype that set the blueprint for everything we've built since. Tough, thoughtfully engineered and unmistakably Wildbox, Avandra proved our belief that a vehicle can be rugged, connected and luxurious without compromise.
Why we built her
We didn't set out to make a showpiece. We wanted a real expedition van you could live with every day and trust hundreds of miles from anywhere: simple to operate, easy to service, and built to last. Avandra let us test materials, layouts and systems in the wild before we'd ever offer them to a customer. She's where our workshop discipline met our "do it properly or don't do it" ethos.
The look: purposeful by design
Finished in matte black with Rogue 17" off-road alloys, Avandra carries a quiet authority. 180° side and rear flood lighting makes set-up in the dark effortless and turns night into day around camp. The exterior is clean and functional, with nothing added for the sake of it.

Liveable space that actually works
Inside, two leather-trimmed captain's seats up front and two removable leather passenger seats in the rear give four travel seats and flexible daily usability. A demountable table drops in to create a comfortable dining or work space when you need it, then stows away to open the floor for gear.
Sleeping is handled by an Atek pop-top with a double bed and memory-foam mattress — airy, quiet and warm. Below, there's space for a single airbed when you need a third berth, or keep it open for bikes, skis and kit.

Kitchen & wet room: proper home comforts
This isn't a token galley. Avandra's kitchen is a full, practical cooking space with a twin gas hob, microwave, air fryer, fridge and a round sink fed from a 75-litre onboard water tank. Opposite sits a fully fitted wet room with shower and toilet — no compromise on hygiene or privacy when you've been out all day.
Power you can trust off-grid
We've always believed electrical systems should be powerful and predictable — not fiddly. Avandra runs 2 × 200Ah lithium batteries feeding a 2000W Victron inverter, with a complete Victron solar and electrical system tied together via touchscreen control. The result: quiet, clean power for cooking, charging, lighting and heating without hunting for hookups.
The control layout is intentionally simple, and yes, those custom Apollo-style switches are as satisfying as they look.
"Power you can trust when the map turns white."
Built the Wildbox way
Avandra is where we formalised the Wildbox way of building:
- Do things the right way. Hidden fixings, solid bracketing, and service access planned from day one.
- Created with conscience. Materials chosen for durability and repairability, not landfill.
- Driven by curiosity. We tested, iterated and re-engineered until the problems disappeared.
- Built to last. Everything is tied back to longevity and safety.
- Engineered for the future. Upgrade paths are designed in, not bodged later.

Real-world testing shaped every design decision
What we learned (and you benefit from)
Field time with Avandra shaped our current design standards:
- Modular layouts beat fixed furniture. Your life changes; your van should adapt.
- Lighting matters. Scene lighting and targeted task lights reduce fatigue and faff.
- Serviceability saves trips. Easy access to electrics and plumbing keeps you moving.
- True off-grid capability means energy budgeting first, aesthetics second.
- Four belted seats and three berths hit a sweet spot for families and friends.
Who Avandra suits
Avandra is for people who want to go further, longer and more comfortably — the winter climber who chases conditions, the family who'll cross Europe over the summer, the photographer who wants a quiet, mobile base with power on tap.
If you're the type who values engineering you can feel, Avandra will make sense the moment you step inside.
